Beschreibung
In einer nahen Zukunft erscheint auf den Weltmeeren die mysteriöse "Nebelflotte", eine Fraktion denkender Hochsee-Kriegsschiffe und U-Boote und erklärt aus unbekannten Gründen der Menschheit den Krieg. Viele der Schiffe haben eine eigene Persönlichkeit, sogenannte "Mental Models", welche als weibliche Avatare ihrer Schiffe körperliche Form annehmen können. Aufgrund der überlegenen Technologie des "Nebels" ist es jedoch ein sehr unausgeglichener Kampf und die Menschheit muss sich mehr und mehr zurückziehen. Siebzehn Jahre später erweckt der Marineoffizierskadett Chihaya Gunz? das Nebelflotten-U-Boot "I-401" und das Mental Model "Iona" erscheint. Sie hat den überraschenden Auftrag, Gunz?s Befehlen Folge zu leisten. Iona, Gunz? und seine Söldner-Crew, die "Blue Steel", nehmen gemeinsam den Kampf gegen den "Nebel" auf.

Basierend auf dem gleichnamigen Manga erscheint ein aussergewöhnliche Science Fiction-, Military- und Comedy-Anime aus dem Hause Sanzigen, welches auch seinen Weg in die Spielewelt fand ("World of Warships").

Eines Tages taucht auf den Weltmeeren eine mysteriöse Flotte auf, Nebelflotte genannt, welche durch Einsatz überlegener Waffentechnologie die Menschheit aus den Meeren vertreibt und den gesamten interkontinentalen Warenverkehr zum Erliegen bringt.

Siebzehn Jahre später treten Gunzou Chihaya und seine Crew in den Kampf ein, indem sie mithilfe der I-401, einem U-Boot der Nebelflotte, das mitsamt seiner Personifikation, Iona, übergelaufen ist, beginnen die Nebelflotte zu bekämpfen.
