Ein Film übers Erwachsenwerden und die Träume, die man verfolgen soll.
Tsukishima Shizuku ist ein lesefreudiges Mädchen, das entdeckt, dass alle Bücher, die sie sich ausleiht, immer wieder den selben Namen im Leihregister aufweisen - Amasawa Seiji. Sie beginnt sich zu fragen, wer er ist und ob das alles ein Zufall sein kann. Eines Tages folgt sie einer streunenden Katze und landet in einem Antiquitätengeschäft. Der Besitzer ist ein netter älterer Herr, der Shizuku einiges zu erzählen weiß und sie beschließt endlich nicht nur zu lesen, sondern eine eigene Geschichte zu schreiben. Sie lernt den Enkel des Ladenbesitzers kennen, der selbst den großen Wunsch hegt einmal Geigenbauer zu werden. Gemeinsam wollen sie ihre Träume verwirklichen.
