Die beliebte Reihe um den Iwatobi Schwimmklub ist zurück und feiert ein fulminantes Comeback mit neuen Geschichten!

Nach den Ereignissen der zweiten Staffel macht sich Haruka gemeinsam mit Makoto auf den Wag nach Tokio, um dort ein Apartment für sein zukünftiges Studium zu finden. Auch beim Schwimmteam von der Samezuka tut sich einiges: Da Rin und Sousuke das Team verlassen werden, sucht Aichiro verzweifelt ein würdiges Abschiedsgeschenk für die beiden.
In der Zwischenzeit stellen sich Nagisa und Rei der Herausforderung, neue Teammitglieder für ihr Schwimmteam zu finden und lassen dabei große Kreativität walten. Letztendlich treffen sich sowohl die Jungs von der Iwatobi, als auch die Schwimmer von der Samezuka zu einem spektakulären Abschlusswettkampf, bei dem auch Gous Ehre auf dem Spiel steht …

In vier Kurzgeschichten, welche die Fanherzen höher schlagen lassen werden, baut Regisseur Eisaku Kawanami gekonnt eine Brücke vom Ende der zweiten Staffel zu den kommenden Abenteuern der heiß begehrten Schwimmjungs. Wie immer wird das Ganze vom legendären Studio Kyoto Animation gekonnt animiert.
